The forgotten village of Kapsala - the refuge of the murderers of Kapodistrias lies just a short distance from the settlement of Kyparissi. The Mavromichalis brothers arrived at the village to avoid people's outcry. That's why most Kapsaliotans have the surname Mavromichalis. It is said that the village was so named because the "exiles" were "burned" (kapsalismenos) by the shame and anger of people.
The village is hidden in the wild, at the end of the slopes of Parnonas, near the Myrtoan Sea and has not been inhabited by anyone for many years. In about fifteen houses (all rectangular), six or seven generations of the Mavromichalis family were born, raised, married, and had children. By 1965 more than a hundred people lived there permanently. The Mavromichalis family repaired the threshing floor, the built-in ovens, as well as the church of St. George.
The visitor can enjoy a swim in the tranquil, scenic beach, which can be reached either by sea or a dirt road at the edge of the small village.
