Have you experienced the hidden beauties and unexplored trails of Lakonian Mount Parnon? Do you feel excited when doing sports and running among fir and high pine tree clusters? What about reaching the mountain peak, Megali Tourla? Are you maybe already preparing for a big-scale mountain running race and are looking for a training opportunity? If so, save the date for Sunday, 15 June 2025, and join the Vamvakou Mountain Run! The popular mountain running race is back for the fifth consecutive year in the beautiful village of Vamvakou, Lakonia, in the heart of Mount Parnon, organized by non-profit Vamvakou Revival as part of the village revival initiative, thanks to the support of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF).
The individuals interested are invited to register here. A symbolic participation fee applies and there is an official electronic timing, so that all runners know their performance. All runners will receive a commemorative participation medal, while there will also be awards for best performance. At 13:30, the closing ceremony and medal presentation for the 7 km race will take place. At 14:30, the closing ceremony and medal presentation for the 19 km race will follow. At 16:00, the closing ceremony and medal presentation for the 29 km race will be held. In addition to the awards, the event will hold prize draws for one lucky participant from each route, which are about to be anounced soon.
Awards
During the closing ceremony, medals will be awarded to the first 3 winners of the general rank for both Men and Women, to all races (29km, 19km και 7km respectively). Moreover, the first three winners from age group 18-39, 40-59, 60+ will also be awarded. From these awards, participants who have already received an award will be excluded from the general rank.

3.Agia Kyriaki location, 3,5th km: 964 m. altitude
4.Finishing point: Village Square of Vamvakou, 7th km: 929 m. altitude

Right to Participate: Individuals over 18 years of age, in other words born before 06/15/2007, have the right to participate in the race. Participants must be in good physical condition and need to register, otherwise they will be excluded from the race.
Participation: A participation is valid only when registered via the webpage Once you have registered, you will receive an automatic confirmation reply, where detailed instructions and links will be included to submit your payment. Only paid entries are considered valid. In case someone wants to cancel their participation, they are kindly asked to do so via email they received, so that the place can be opened to others interested in participating.
Registration: Registration is limited to 200 participants
Race pack: All registered participants will get a participation (BIB) number and the timing chip, a bag for their personal items, a souvenir t-shirt of the race, a medal award and a light snack at the finish line.
Electronic timing will apply to all races.
