The Lakonia General Hospital-Molaoi Nursing Unit (formerly Molaoi General Hospital) was founded in 1966 and serves, on a 24-hour basis, the entire southern end of the prefecture of Lakonia, the Municipality of Evrotas and the Municipality of Elafonisos. Every year, it welcomes a large number of visitors, as the area is a popular tourist destination throughout the year.
