The seaside village of Elia or Elaia is located in the southeastern part of the Peloponnese and belongs to the Municipality of Monemvasia. Guests can enjoy their swim in one of the beautiful beaches, such as Viandini, Makris Gialos or Tigania.
The village of 350 inhabitants has a small, picturesque harbour while, starting from Elia, one can visit areas such as Monemvasia, Gerakas, Elafonissos etc. At the edge of the village, close to the port, you can find the church of Agios Nikolaos.
Elia dates back to the Mycenaean times. The ancient city's name was Viandini, and excavations have revealed findings such as Early and Late Hellenistic pottery.
