The small, picturesque fishing village of Archaggelos is located on the east coast of the Laconic Gulf, at the end of the road descending from Molaoi. Archaggelos is 30 kilometres from Monemvasia and 20 kilometres from Neapolis and stands out for its tranquillity and natural beauty. It was named after the church of the same name, located on the beach. The village was founded on the initiative of a clergyman over two hundred years ago. Specifically, in 1811, the then Metropolitan Chrysanthos Pagonis took the initiative and bought this place from the Turks in order to create a settlement. He even described the site as "delightful", a feature that fits it perfectly.
At the village, guests can enjoy their meals at traditional fish taverns overlooking the beach, while for coffee and drinks, there is a "handmade" bar made of reeds and wooden couches. Also, visitors can benefit from the village's central location and easily access the major attractions of Laconia, such as Monemvasia, Neapoli, Elafonisos etc.
