The semi-mountainous village of Goritsa is located on Mount Parnon and is built at an altitude of 342 metres. Both the villages of Polydroso and Goritsa belong to the municipal district of Goritsa. The village has 686 permanent residents. It is just 23 kilometres from Sparta. The few inhabitants of Polydroso (Tsintzina) move to the village of Goritsa during the winter months.
In Goritsa, visitors can wander the narrow alleys (unfortunately, many are now paved) and admire the traditional stone houses. The churches of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary and the Byzantine church of Taxiarches, which is located at "Laina", 2.5 km southeast of the village, are worth visiting. Finally, in Goritsa, there is a Folklore - Historical Museum with historical relics, traditional costumes, a loom, household utensils, pieces of furniture and agricultural tools.
