The gaze that tells a story–Experiential workshop for adults
Spread the word

What stories might be hidden behind a gaze? What could your own gaze, or that of a passerby, have in common with a 19th-century portrait?
The Koumantareios Gallery of Sparta invites the public to a unique experiential workshop for adults titled “The Gaze that Narrates.” During the three-hour programme, participants will explore how the gaze, their own and that of others, can convey emotions, memories, and stories, leading to a more personal and meaningful connection with the Gallery’s works.
Through simple observation and writing exercises, the workshop will offer participants the opportunity to view the exhibits from a new, more inward perspective. By the end, they will have connected with art in an experiential and deeply personal way.
For the workshop's purposes, participants are asked to wear comfortable clothing and bring a personal photograph, either a face or a portrait.
Participation is open to all adults who appreciate art, observation, and the discovery of stories.
