Aglyftis Island
At the westernmost point of Elafonisos, opposite Cape Tainaro, is the islet of Aglyftis (Agios Glyptis). It was named so because of the shallow waters that "lick" the beach. Opposite the islet is the homonymous beach, the only beach with pebbles of Elafonissos.
It is a remote and quiet beach, ideal for those looking for moments of relaxation away from the crowds. You can also find the chapel of Agios Patapios, which was built in 1960 by a woman named Jenny Aroni (after a dream she had seen). The iconostasis used to be located on the beach of Kato Nisi and was built by her mother, Panagiota Aroni.
