Karyatis-Karyes Sports Club
The "Karyatis" Karyes Sports Club was founded in 1924, and its purpose is "the harmonious development of the physical, moral and spiritual tendencies and qualities of the Arachovi youth". (Until 1930, the village of Karyes was called Arachova). The activities of the sports club are multifaceted: sports, cultural, and social. It has a privately owned football field at the "Penigoura" location at the village entrance. At the same time, at the exact location, there is also a basketball, tennis and volleyball court.
The "Karyatis" Karyes Sports Club took part in the sports competitions held in 1928 and 1929 in the village of Vlachokerasia in Arcadia for the first time. At these games, athletes distinguished themselves by winning first prizes in the jumping, shot put, javelin, discus, stone throw and road events. In 1929, Arachova athletes also won first prizes in Sparta in the 5 km and 1500 m steeplechase, as well as in the high jump.
The Athletic Club's football team participated for the first time in the official Laconia football championship in 1970-1972 and returned in 1983 to the third category. Since then, it has continuously participated in the championships of the local categories of Laconia.
