Seed Festival in Krokees

The "Seed Festival" started in 2011 and has been organised yearly in the small village of Krokees (Levetsova) south of Sparta. The celebration is organised by the "Cultural Association of Krokees" in collaboration with the "Environmental Cultural Club of Mani" (PERI.PO.O. Mani). The festival aims to raise awareness of critical environmental issues and the right to freedom in collecting, preserving and disseminating seeds.
Cultivators and producers from Laconia and Messenia participate in the "Seed Festival", and the information booths present topics related to seed production, seed storage, seed mutation, etc. At the end of the celebration, seeds are exchanged and distributed.
