The settlement of Viglafia is located opposite the island of Elafonisos. At Skala, daily, there is scheduled transportation to Elafonisos. The name Viglafia is not found anywhere else in Greece. It comes from the word "vigla", which means observatory. In the past, the settlement was a natural observatory of the considerable number of deer that existed in the area. Viglafia is a settlement with intense rural life and many tourist businesses.
At Viglafia, you can also visit Pounta beach with its white sand and emerald waters. There, visitors can also see the ancient sunken city of Pavlopetri and the wetland of Strogyli Lake.
