At a very short distance from Nomia you can find the small fishing village of Xifias with its wonderful beaches, coves and crystal - clear blue waters. Along the main beach, with pebbles and sand, the visitor can find taverns, cafes and some hotels. The port of Xifias was the ancient Xifoupolis, a city of the Hellenistic period. In fact, the ancient Idipolis was located in this area. Also, the port of Xifias, in combination with the ports of Old Monemvasia and Agios Fokas, operated as one of the commercial centers during the Byzantine period.
