The statue of the Unsung Gythian Sailor is at the jetty of Gythio.
The visitor can get there by walking along the street of the Poets, which was named in honour of Yannis Ritsos and Nikephoros Brettakos.
The statue is dedicated to all sailors lost at sea. In its inscription, it carries two quads written by Ritsos and Brettakos, who were students in the city of Gythio.
