Dri is a traditional settlement with only 40 permanent residents. It is built at an altitude of 180 metres, near the shores of the Messinian Gulf. Its name comes from the oak tree (dris), which exists in the area. In 1618, according to Petros Medico's memorandum addressed to Charles of Never, 85 families lived in the settlement, while in 1850, 48 families lived there.
The abandoned stone towers stand among the rich vegetation, while the visitor can also see the temples of Agios Sotiras (12th century) and Agios Nikitas (13th century), with their magnificent frescoes.
