Capetanakos' Tower
One of the many towers of Areopolis preserved today is the Kapetanakos' Tower, a tower of a well-known family in the area.
The Tower, located in the centre of the settlement, is a typical example of Mani architecture. It was built in 1865, and in recent years it has been bought and renovated by EOT, making it a first-class hostel. It consists of the ground floor and two more floors and has six rooms in total.
During their stay, visitors can also see the courtyard and the old cistern, all traditional local history elements. Inside the Tower, there are many aspects of Mani folklore and history through 80 pictures with selected landscapes accompanied by small texts.
