Taxiarches Church
A little higher than the settlement of Glezos, visitors can find the remarkable church of Taxiarches. The church dates back to the second half of the 11th century and belongs to the two-column cruciform inscribed church.
Its walls are built with the usual brick-enclosed masonry system of the Middle Byzantine period, while, at places, glazed panels have been installed. In later times, Middle Byzantine marble sculptures were built in during additions.
Of the frescoes that covered the temple's interior, only fragments are preserved, such as the figure of the Almighty in the dome. Finally, the built iconostasis is newer.
