Sparta honours one of its most important intellectual figures with an evening dedicated to literature, journalism, and song. On Saturday, February 28th, 2026, at 7:00 p.m., at the Cultural Centre of Sparta, an event will be held in tribute to Spartan writer, journalist, poet, and lyricist Fontas Ladis.
The event is part of Cycle 3, “Writers of the Taygetus School” for 2026, and serves as a tribute to a multifaceted personality who left a strong mark on Greek letters and on art song. His work will be presented by poet P. Laskaris and by Fontas Ladis himself, offering the audience a meaningful insight into his journey and creative path.
A special place in the evening will be given to songs with lyrics by Fontas Ladis, performed by the Folk Ensemble of the Music School of Sparta, highlighting his contribution to lyric writing and contemporary Greek music.
The event will take place at the Cultural Centre of Sparta. Co-organisers are the Cultural Centre of Sparta, the Lakonia Philologists Association, and the Music School of Sparta.
The evening is expected to be an important cultural occasion for Sparta, bringing the work of a creator who connected language with social sensitivity and song with memory and historical awareness to the forefront.
