Taygetos Botanical and Geological Museum

In cooperation with the development company Parnonas-Taygetos, the Municipality of Sparta created the Taygetos Botanical and Geological Museum, located at Anavryti, at an altitude of 800 metres.
The small museum is housed in the two halls of the neoclassical building of the old Anavryti Elementary School. Here, visitors can see rare photos of Taygetos plants, surveillance material and sketches. A remarkable collection of local rocks and fossils is also on display. The nature of the exhibition as a whole is informative and educational.
