European Cultural Heritage Days

Spread the word

The Piraeus Group Cultural Foundation, on the occasion of this year's European Cultural Heritage Days (EHCD) celebration entitled "Tracing Routes, Networks and Links in Cultural Heritage", organises activities for young and older audiences at the Olive and Greek Olive Oil Museum, in Sparta.
In more detail, on Saturday, September 28th and Sunday, September 29th, 2024 (11:00-13:00), the artistic workshop "Oil prints" will be implemented for adults and families. Museum visitors, young and old, will create a group project with olive leaf prints from coloured inks, drawing inspiration from artworks by major contemporary artists featured in the Olive in Art section of the Museum's permanent exhibition.
At the same time, on Saturday, the 28th and Sunday, the 29th, there will be themed tours (12:00-13:00) with an emphasis on Museum objects related to sports. Participants will have the opportunity to discover how the sacred tree of the goddess Athena is connected to the Olympic Games and events.
Participation in the actions is free.
For guided tours, a reservation is required.
For information and reservations, contact the Museum at 27310 89315 (every day except Tuesday, 10:00-18:00).
*On September 28th and 29th, the Museum of Olive and Greek Oil will be free to enter during the EHPC celebration, and visitors will receive a 10% discount on shop items.
