The Municipality of Sparta, in collaboration with the Thea-tree team, presents Summer Camp 2026—a unique five-day creative programme for children aged 6 to 12, hosted at the 2nd Primary School of Sparta.
This inspiring week of Art, Play and Creativity through Music offers children the opportunity to learn, play, have fun, and express themselves through a wide range of artistic activities led by experienced educators and facilitators.
The programme is open to children who have completed kindergarten through the sixth grade of primary school. Participants will be divided into groups and guided by specially trained facilitators and arts educators. Throughout the week, they will work together to devise and create an original performance, which will be presented to parents on the final day of the programme.
This year's Week of Art and Creativity is dedicated to the great Greek composer Mikis Theodorakis.
Through workshops in creative drama, music, and visual arts, children will discover the life and work of Mikis Theodorakis, listen to his music and songs, create and perform music themselves, imagine and produce visual artworks, and participate in a variety of artistic activities inspired by his remarkable legacy. Using the performing arts as a creative vehicle, the programme will culminate in the presentation of a short, improvised theatrical performance.
Participation
- Participation is free of charge.
- The programme is limited to 60 children.
- Parents or guardians are asked to complete the Expression of Interest Form and submit it by email to sparticamp26@gmail.com no later than 15 July 2026.
- Places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
