Story:

She follows a flock of starlings on their migratory path and discovers that the destruction of their natural habitats is leading them into chaos. A little starling, Tira, gets lost and ends up in a dangerous metropolis; Danae rescues her, brings her back to the flock, and together they fight to protect the last forest in the area.

A few words about the play:
This is a surreal mystery adventure for children, with comedic and lyrical elements, during which sensitive people and animals will have to work together together "for a better tomorrow", as it is proven that profit and significant financial interests are the primary cause of the destruction of nature.
The original play was written by Photis Dousos and Alexandros Raptis and is inspired by the documentary Connected: The Hidden Science of Everything (2020) by Canadian-American researcher and journalist Latif Nasser. The text focuses on a part of the broader ecological crisis that affects the lives of migratory birds: light pollution and deforestation. In nature, everything is interconnected, and therefore, man and his environmental footprint are crucial to the future of life.
The Hippo theatre group, continuing the special type of physical theatre it has invented (kinemo), creates a performance featuring dominant elements of intense physicality, high energy, live singing, and special kinesiology, offering an exuberant, entertaining spectacle.
With “Tira’s Flying Adventure”, the HIPPRO group aims to cultivate empathy and raise children's awareness of environmental education issues. During the performance, emphasis is placed on values such as ecological awareness, self-respect, respect and love for nature and animals. The disruption of the balance of natural ecosystems is expected to become the planet’s major problem in the coming decades, and we believe that raising children’s awareness on the issue should be an absolute priority. Only if we all do something together will we be able to reverse the situation.
The performance is being staged with the support of the Hellenic Ornithological Society.
