PIN: What does freedom will mean?
JP: That you can do what you want.
PIN: And?
JP: It's dangerous.
Hippo Theater Group presents City of the Lost Robots (Year 2), an interactive sci-fi play for children ages 4 to 12.
On Friday, July 19th, 2024, the Skini Sparta-Sparta Stage will host two performances at 18.30 and 20.00.
Somewhere in the distant future, in a place full of technological breakthroughs, human-like robots live in slavery, obliged to serve or entertain their masters. The only exception is Pin, the only free humanoid!
With the motto "you're not born human, you're made" Pin starts her revolution, which the authoritarian World Government doesn't like at all.
Thus begins the most adventurous and exciting journey, full of twists, turns, and humour! Will Pin manage her freedom for the good of the whole? Will she manage to find her hidden humanity? Will it drag the rest of the robots toward self-awareness and emancipation?
The show has received the Ministry of Culture and Sports auspices.
DODONI publications publish the text of the performance.
A Few Words about the Project:
The City of Lost Robots is a futuristic fairy tale for children written by Fotis Dousos and Alexandros Raptis. Influenced by fantasy literature, the play tells the story of a robot that discovers itself, claims not only its freedom but also a better future and becomes a source of inspiration for the rest of the subservient humanoids.
The Theater Group, continuing the special kind of physical theatre it invented (kinemo), creates a performance with dominant elements of intense physicality, high energy, music and movement, offering an exuberant entertaining spectacle of science fiction.
