Screenings of the 9th Peloponnisos International Documentary Festival in Sparta

On Saturday, November 4th, at 11:00 & 12:30, the Piraeus Bank Group Cultural Foundation, in collaboration with the Peloponnisos International Documentary Festival, will screen award-winning Greek documentaries of recent film production at the Museum of the Olive and the Greek Olive Oil in Sparta.

Thessaloniki, under Nazi occupation. 96% of the Jewish population is sent to Auschwitz. The adventures, hopes, and dreams of nine Jewish students at the Umberto Primo Italian school come to life. The film is based on the archive found by an Italian professor and on the testimonies of the protagonists.

As if they never existed. People on the go. They face dangers in unknown and inhospitable places. For 15 years, a photojournalist witnesses migrants' journey through the dark borders of Europe. Futility, death and exhaustion from endless struggle make up much of Giorgos Moutafis’ work.
